I love the beginning of a New Year, don’t you? A time for optimism and opportunity! January courses & workshops
January 16, 2020
Happy New Year Lovely,
I don’t know about you but I love the start of a new year and I’m especially loving this one!
The New Year brings such optimism and opportunities. A chance to turn over a fresh leaf and start again with renewed vigour and enthusiasm. 2020 is even better because it’s the start of a whole new decade.
I’m throwing myself back into 2020 with a one week Sewing School course which started on Monday with a fabulous bunch of students who are already soaking up all the new dressmaking skills they can as well as practising their existing skills.
It’s a fantastic feeling for me to see the joy and satisfaction on a student’s face that comes from nailing a new technique. Whether that is the first time they’ve sewn a perfect straight seam or mastering a spot on stripe or check match.
If getting to grips with dressmaking is one of your 2020 goals then I’ve got some courses and workshops to help you on your way.
Sewing School is designed to develop your sewing skills whatever your level. As class sizes are small (max. 3 students) it means that you get heaps on one on one time with your lovely tutor (that’s me!) to support you in your learning.
You choose your project and your learning areas, so that the course is completely tailored to you and that means you progress much quicker. Previous students have made, skirts, dresses, coats, shirts, menswear and kids clothes – the choice is yours.
Sewing School courses starting next week:
Sunday evenings 5-7.30pm – starts Sunday 12th January – Book Here
Monday evenings 6-8.30pm – starts Monday 13th January – Book Here
Tuesday mornings 10am-12.30 – starts Tuesday 14th January – Book Here
Go from zero to finished garment in just five 2.5 hour sessions. Don’t forget although this course is called dressmaking if you would like to make a top, a skirt or some simple trousers that’s more than ok too!
You will learn all the skills to make clothes, in exactly your style and your colours that fit you perfectly. Look good and feel good. Nothing beats the feeling of being complimented on something you’re wearing and being able to say “I made this!”
Following on from Beginner’s Dressmaking (part one), continue your journey into making fabulous wearable clothes that you’ll love! This course allows you to develop, practice and increase your confidence to make beautiful clothes that actually fit you in the fabrics you love. It is the perfect way to continue to indulge your dressmaking habit and develop it into an addiction.
Repeat this course as many times as you like, your skills will grow and you will become a more confident and skilled dressmaker.
If that’s not enough for you to get your teeth into, then I also offer one to one lessons. You can book a free 30 minute consultation with me to chat about what you would like to learn if you are interested inone to one lessons.
