I have just spent a week at BagLadybird Autumn sewing school and would recommend it to anyone. I started as a novice sewer, but by the end of the week I had a completed dress and have the confidence to try and make one at home.

I have learnt many skills over the week and am thrilled with all I have learnt. Alison is a good teacher and is able to guide her pupils well. At no time did I feel my endless questions were annoying.

The facilities were excellent with everything we needed and the teacher pupil ratio superb.

I enjoyed the week so much, I have booked into another sewing school.

So many times when I’m shopping for clothes I wish they’d fit me better or be in a colour or style I really want. Many times I’ve wondered if I could make my own but I didn’t know where to start. Then I found Alison’s classes. And guess what? I can sew!!

Alison is such a great teacher and a lovely person. I’m so glad I decided to learn with her. She’s warm and friendly which means classes are really comfortable whether you’re completely new to dressmaking (like me) or more experienced. Everyone is welcome and no matter what your level Alison’s knowledgeable and encouraging way makes it a really enjoyable experience. I’ve done a few classes now, the highlight being the Summer School Week. I absolutely loved it! I made a beautiful dress and had lots of laughs (and biscuits!) along the way. If you’re thinking about learning dressmaking I thoroughly recommend Alison’s BagladyBird classes – I’d be there every week if I could!

Loved the little girl’s dress making workshop. I made a beautiful shift dress for my 17 month old daughter. I would definitely recommend Alison’s workshops. She is really helpful and explains things well for beginners like me. I had never even touched a sewing machine but I really enjoyed learning how to. It was great to walk away with a piece that I had made myself! Very proud of myself. I think this could be a new hobby…Thank you Alison. I’ll definitely be back for another workshop! X
